The 32” 8 Corners of Heaven Mirror Gong is a symphonic gong at heart and has been developed with a special surface by Grand Gong Master Don Conreaux for Meinl Sonic Energy.

A fully fledged gong (d. 81 cm), it is unpitched (not tuned to a certain frequency) and varies in the range of D2-D#2. It has quite a wide frequency range and long sustain. Front and back of it’s surface are mirror-polished.

The mirror surface allows for Tratakam meditations as gong player and gong receiver can see themselves in the surface. The gong can be integrated in therapeutic use for self-mirroring and reflection. Playing the 8 Corners of Heaven is a special experience as you can see everything surrounding you (and behind you) like the people present, other gong players or the room / nature and reflecting light surrounding you.

The ancient runic glyphs suggest that the gong originates from the eight corners of heaven (like also used in Feng Shui 8 compass directions) and attunes to the cycles of life.

Ein vollwertiger Gong (d. 81 cm), ist er nicht auf eine bestimmte Frequenz gestimmt und variiert im Spektrum von D2-D#2. Er hat ein breites Klangspektrum und einen langanhaltenden Klang. Seine Oberfläche ist beidseitig spiegelpoliert.

Die verspiegelte Oberfläche ist ideal für Tratakam Meditationen, da sowohl Gong Spieler als auch Gong Empfänger sich jeweils selber sehen können. Der Gong kann in Therapiesitzungen für Selbstreflektionen eingesetzt werden. Es ist ein besonderes Erlebnis, den 8 Corners of Heaven Gong zu spielen, da man alles um einen herum (und hinter einem) wahrnehmen kann: die anwesenden Menschen, andere Gongspieler oder auch den Raum selbst / die Natur und das reflektierende Licht, die einen umgeben.

Die altertümlichen Runen weisen darauf hin, dass der Gong aus den 8 Ecken des Himmels stammt (ähnlich wie die 8 Kompassrichtungen im Feng Shui) und den Zyklus des Lebens repräsentiert.
